Read Carbeth Plants Reviews

The Raspberry Red Rhubarb variety is known for it’s think red stalks with contrasting green leaves. The stalks have a sweeter taste that other varieties and has a RHS Award of Garden Merit. This fruit is fantastic for pies, crumbles, jams and more.

EARLY HARVEST – A vigorous perennial with large, glossy, wrinkled, mid-green leaves and long, bright red, edible stems ready for harvest from early spring to midsummer. Can be ready as early as April to June.
SO TASTY – Rhubarb is delicious in desserts and as it is so easy to grow and takes up very little room it deserves a place in every garden.
RHUBARB CROWN – They will arrive as crowns which is to be treated in the same way as a bare root. Depending on the season and climate they could have no to some growth on them.
PLANTING – These can be planted through the year but we recommend Autumn to Winter, ready for harvest the next year. Avoid planting during hard frosts as it may damage any new growth.
FORCING – It can be forced from mid winter to promote growth and harvest.
LEAVES – Only eat the stalks as leaves are poisonous
STORING – We recommend planting once you receive it as long as weather is not too hot, if not ready for planting now, open the paper bag to keep the crowns well ventilated, away from any moisture and in a cool dark spot. Regularly check on them as no pets or rodents have got them
