The Musa ensete Maurelli, Ethiopian black banana plant is among the easiest exotic indoor plants. This spectacular evergreen foliage plant is actually a herbaceous perennial but it’s often referred to as a banana tree. With its lovely eye-catching green and bronze paddle shaped leaves this vigorous house plant will add a tropical, jungle feel to any room that it is positioned within.
This fast growing indoor plant can grow to between 3 and 5 metres in height, with it growing 100cm each year. As they love humidity and warmth they are ideal plants for bathrooms or kitchens. In warmer areas of the country it can be grown outdoors in pots on a patio but will need to be moved indoors during the Winter as it is not Winter hardy.
