Astilbe are full hardy perennials that produce fluffy plume-like flower spikes in shades of red, pink and white during the Summer months. They can grow to heights of 70cm and are very bee and other pollinating insect friendly.
They grow well in borders, planters and in particular damp bog gardens, beside ponds and in woodland gardens. They are perfect for planting with other shade loving plants such as Hostas, Heuchera and Astrantia.
