Good size starter pack to try out these briquettes. I put two in my wood burning stove last thing. Let them catch for a few minutes and then turn down air flow to minimum. 10 hours later fans on stove still rotating and stove giving off a warm heat. The stove was fairly clean considering the briquettes has been burning low through the night. Raked the ash on bottom of stove and there was a good pile of glowing embers. I added some kindling and within 30 minutes I had the fire going again. Definitely worth the purchase over the coldest weather. I’ll be buying more. Highly recommend these briquettes as they are good quality and value for money compared to cheaper ones I’ve previously tried .

good stuff! I got one overnight burning from 2 briquettes, and on the 3rd time they even lasted all night and most of the day!

Night briquettes burn well, give a good heat and form a substantial base for a fire. Well worth a try.

I also bought a couple of pack of the Night Briquettes. We used to get round, very dense, bark logs for night burning - I think Verdo used to make them. Anyway the Night Briquettes are a disappointment. Quite a loose compress, very messy, take a lot of air to burn rather than smoulder, and although they do retain a little heat overnight not enough to be useful. They will stink out your neighbours unless you get them burning well. Not a good product for slow overnight burning.

First experience of using these and, unlike others I've tried, these do EXACTLY what they claim - they burn ALL night. I put one brick ontop of the other on the ashes at night, turn the vents to zero and the following morning knock the ash back to a good chunk of solid bright orange briquette, add a couple of pieces of kindling and a Calido log (don't bother to try any other or cheaper copies) and the fire is ablaze in a couple of minutes. The whole of the downstairs remained warm, keeping 3 hounds happy, dried all the washing and so much nicer than central heating. I save approximately £3500 per annum using solid fuel as the main heat in a decent sized 4 bed detached house. Service at Calido gets more than 5 stars and the quality of products is superior to all others I've tried over the last 10 years. If you're going to do it properly with your stove - just make sure you CALIDO IT!

Hi Helen, Wow, thank you for such a lovely review

Like the night briquettes. Don't need many as only used on the coldest of nights. So the twin pack is ideal size. Get 5 to 6 hours from 2 briquettes, so ideal for overnighting the stove. Usually enough embers to refuel stove with kindling / logs.
