“While I wouldn't take it scuba diving with me, the tin sure does have a multitude of uses. It's compact and made of a strong material, which makes it amazing for survival kits, camping, storing fire starting materials, cash or other valuables (although I would put them in a zip-loc bag first, because the tin itself can't resist all water if it's submerged longer than a few seconds). It does float, so it's not the end of the world if you drop it. Useful for storing small snacks as well, if you don't want them to get damaged. I have 2 tins for 2 different kits, but I'd definitely recommend applying some tape on the outside to make it more waterproof.”
