“I love my Sabre 45! For carrying heavy loads, the padding is second to none. It might be overkill if you're not going to be weighted down, but there is nothing better if you need to lug 10 - 15 kg from point A back to point A via the rest of the alphabet. For regulation dead weight carriers (or masochists, the same thing really), there is a foam back support that is ideal for gaffer taping sand in a rubble sack to. It keeps it close to your centre of gravity and is the best method I've ever known. The stitching is really hard wearing, and while I agree with Barry the hole for your drinking tube is a bit wee, but with a little persuasion it always works out. For me, it is less of an issue since I can detach the tube from my reservoir for refilling. If you had to pull the whole tube though each time, it would be more annoying. The strapdown lid zips open like in most bags, but in this model it offers a HUGE pocket for things you might need to get out frequently. I would prefer to have a couple of pockets on the waist straps, however. The loops for ice axes (why?) don't do much for me. Every loose strap has a little clip to stop it dangling, and the ability to zip on PLCE side pouches is a really great feature. If you need to carry more, it can cater for that. If you don't need much, there are straps to compress its size. Wizard. The bottom line is, a lot of thought has gone into designing this bag, and in this case you get what you pay for. The price will be prohibitive for some but if you're tired of the same old aches, pains and chafing from your bag digging in, then it is totally worth the upgrade so people can hear you complain about something else for a change. Slap on a pair of Alt-Bergs and you just might just run out of things to moan at! Until it rains.”

“An outstanding day bag, well made with plenty of space inside, and the option of adding side pouches to make it like a "Jet Pack". The straps have plenty of adjustment, if sometime however the straps are to long. The only down side to this otherwise first class bag is the small slit for the hydration tube, it could do with being a little bigger, but then I am nit picking. Definitely the MUST HAVE bag.”
