“The system is very good, heats up quickly but... if you're planning to use this cooking system for cooking ration packs then it is very tight to get even one boil-in-the-bag inside. The cup and lid which come with the jet boil are very easy to break and will cost you over the odds to replace, between myself and some friends we've both had the same issue that the self ignition doesn't work all of the time and when it does work you have to have the gas on full for a while before it does work, with the average price of the gas it's a bit wasteful.”

“Having used most of the different cooking systems on the market, I gulped at the higher price of the jetboil system but having listened to some of my colleagues, I thought in for a penny in for a pound! I wasn't disappointed the power and ease of use of the jetboil is off the scale, whether boiling rations or just making a brew, it's quick slick system is quick and easy to use getting you back to task in no time at all, I found a small tea towel a good idea to help when its base is hot a small gas can attached to the cooking base along with the towel will fit inside the main body and cut down on rattle. One of the other main plus points is that it all fits in a regular size webbing utility pouch so can stay with you all the time. Some people may baulk at the price tag but with the other accessories you can get to add on the systems, I personally think it's one of the best if not the best system for solo cooking on the market.”
