In 1975,when we first got them, it had a silver ring around the anchor and not brass. I'm sure the anchor was brass and the ring was silver. I could be wrong, as it was a very long time ago. I am a 71,years old Royal Navy Regular Veteran and we first got them in 1975,to replace one of our white caps.However,it is fine for my beret, when I will wear it, for Armed Forces Day and Remembrance Sunday.”
