<p>Pack of 10 fixing stainless-steel screws, washers, caps and spacers for installing corrugated plastic sheets.</p>

These are fastened through the crown profile of the plastic corrugated sheets and require pre-drilling of the sheets. When installing the screw needs to be tightened tight enough to create a seal, but not over tightened to deflect the sheet and the spacer prevents this.</p>

“These fixings were purchased 3 years ago to secure some corrugated PVC cement profile sheets. In a recent gale part of a PVC sheet was ripped away and shattered, as the PVC is not UV stable and the sheets have become brittle. On closer examination I found that the screw cups and caps had also completely degraded in the sunlight and are starting to disintegrate. The wind was able to get under the lost sheet because the corner fixing had pulled out of the timber rafter. The screws are too short to provide a strong and weather-proof restraint. I shall replace all of them with the 100mm stainless steel screws and rubber cups that I am using for the fibre-cement sheets. The PVC sheets will be replaced with fibre-glass, also supplied by C&A. More expensive, but don't make my mistake by having to do the whole job twice.”
