About Billingham:

Billingham are a family owned company, manufacturing camera bags for the world’s photographers since 1973 alongside a range of leisure and laptop bags. All bags are made in the West Midlands area of England, a region famous for manufacturing. A core reason for Billingham’s longevity is the fact that from the start, the Billingham family were determined that their products would always be made to the very highest standards from the best available materials to provide high levels of protection for their valued contents.

A notable feature of Billingham camera bags is that they are made from a distincive 3-layer waterpoof canvas that never needs reproofing. They also feature genuine top grain leather and solid brass details.

Like any premium product, the quality of materials, design and craftsmanship that goes into creating a Billingham means that it represents a significant investment. It’s important that they don’t just look beautiful, but that they do their job of protecting equipment wherever they are and whatever they’re being used for – year in and year out.

it was better if you give straps with the bag for tripods under it

As others have commented here, the rucksack is extremely well made. I’d add that the design and choice of materials is significant, making the experience of using the bag so much better. For instance, the fabric is waterproof so you don’t need a separate rain cover; the shoulder straps are non-slip - yet they don’t drag on your clothes when taking off the bag; the whole wall of the main compartment is compatible with hook & loop, so you can position dividers anywhere; the dividers are the same, so you can connect one to another in any way you wish; the brass D-rings hold the shoulder straps firmly, so they won’t slip or come undone. The size of the bag is such that you don’t need waist or sternum straps; the shoulder straps fit well under the armpits and the bag is stable even when you’re bent double. The side padding must be an inch thick. In other words, Billingham bags aren’t just well made, they’re extremely well thought out and a joy to use. I chose this bag because I have a medium format system which is relatively heavy, fragile like any camera equipment, and would be difficult for me to replace, and this bag really does take protection to a new level for soft cases - the wall of the main compartment must be an inch thick. Other bags I’ve used collapse under a heavy load when they’re opened, and that makes it difficult to get things in and out. I’ve tried several with side access (where you swing the bag round on one shoulder so the flap in the side is just in front of you) and they don’t work with heavy cameras and lenses. I do advise fitting your gear in the bag before buying, if you can. Even the best bag is little use if your camera and lenses don’t fit, and systems vary greatly in size and shape. I managed to fill the bag with a GFX-50S with articulated finder installed, 3 lenses with any one of the lenses fitted to the camera, a small flash, and some filters. Batteries and other accessories I keep in the front (unpadded) compartment as small items can easily escape and bounce around, causing havoc with your otherwise well-protected equipment. Perhaps the only thing I’d change would be to have a couple of small pockets within the front pocket to store memory cards so they don’t get lost.
