Tasting Notes A dry, white wine with a crisp finish. Named after the God of wine, Bacchus is one of England’s most interesting grape varieties for still wines. Its grapes have strong and distinctive aromatic flavour, with characteristics which develop well in the bottle over time. The ideal alternative to a Sauvignon Blanc. Winemaker Notes Bacchus was first planted at Biddenden in 2003, and due to the increasing popularity of the variety more were planted in 2018. Bacchus is currently the 4 th most planted grape variety in the UK. Wines produced with Bacchus are dry, highly aromatic and have good acidity.
