“Although this is a fairly expensive addition to your bbq set up, it was around £18 cheaper from BBQ WORLD than anywhere else I could find.....and I did my research! Saying that, even at this price, it's no more expensive (and probably cheaper) than initially buying a large gas bottle and regulator/hose, plus the cost of filling the bottle. It arrived within 2 days of ordering, and delivery via a well known courier service, was free.
The unit itself is solidly built, well designed and looks the part, as you'd expect from a Cadac product. It is extremely compact and easy to store/transport when you compare it to a large traditional gas bottle.
The rear cover/door opens up nice and wide to insert the gas cylinders, enabling easy, secure connection of each cylinder (bayonet type EN417, which are universally available and cheap as chips if bought in bulk). The rear cover is then secured with a latch and an additional clip, making the whole unit feel very safe, secure and solid, which is paramount when using any gas supply. You simply attach the supplied gas pipe, which has QR fittings on both ends, to the unit and then to your bbq. I'm using the Cadac 2 cook 2 Pro Deluxe QR, which I also purchased from BBQ WORLD, and again, was much cheaper than anywhere else I could find.
It all comes in a quality storage/carry bag, which easily accommodates the power pack without any struggle, and has an external pocket on the back for other bits if required.
Although I haven't used the power pack to any extent, I did try it out as soon as it arrived, and left it running for a few minutes to ensure a consistent gas flow, which it did.
Time will tell on its functionality and reliability, but past experience with Cadac products, coupled with a good guarantee, I have faith in both these aspects.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase, and can completely recommend this power pack, and BBQ WORLD as the supplier.”
