The Char-Griller Black Akorn Junior Kamado provides convenience and portability, ideal for patios, balconies, picnics and camping. The smaller and compact size won’t disappoint, because there are still all the features needed to regulate temperature, including dual dampers, a temperature gauge, and triple wall insulation, for perfect results every time. Durable steel construction, built to last - lighter and easier to move than a ceramic kamado Double walled insulation retains heat just like a ceramic grill 14" Cast Iron Cooking Grate Adjustable dampers, top and bottom, to regulate temperature accurately Easy dump ash pan, convenient, non-messy removal of ash Stay-cool handle Temperature gauge Easy mobility - weighs 17kg 51cm Wide x 53cm Deep x 68cm High We have a display model of this item in our Hitchin, Herts Showroom if you wish to view one before purchasing. Char-griller do make a cordierite heat deflector plate, the Smokin' Stone, for this grill, which enables you to cook indirectly and smoke. We also have a cheaper alternative stone that you can use instead, the Campingaz Modular Pizza Stone, which is a perfect fit and sits on each of the three internal supports, doing just the same job, and will enable you to use this grill as an oven or smoker, as well as a regular grill. Both of these products can be found in the 'You May Also Require' section on this page.

This is a great little BBQ perfect for grilling smoking small items for a number of two people. Cooking time is fantastic it really does hold its heat very well. I highly recommend getting the smoke Stone. This will help prevent your food from burning too quickly and giving it that extra flavour. I have cooked many different things on this BBQ. I love it, I’m looking at getting a bigger version as you are limited to how much you can fit on.

The lid doesnt sit correctly on the base. i will have to drill out the hinge to try and get it to make a seal. currently the gap is 10mm on the right hand side and touching on the left.

Much more than I expected for the £199 cost! Easy to assemble, use and clean. Great quality materials, and design. Temperature can be controlled well, and coals last a long time - I've been using it in the cold and rain so far. I added some self-adhesive, heat-resistant gasket tape (£5 Amazon) under the lid and on top of the ash container to improve the air tightness of the seals for all day smoking. I chose this over the Joe Jr, mainly due to the price difference and lighter weight for taking out for day trips and camping, and I'm very happy with it.
