I didn't want to spend £1000 on a kamado when i wasn't sure if i was going to use it. and I'm glad i didn't if you are looking for a BBQ of that will cook anything (other than a whole brisket) buy this! It is not worth spending any more this grill is perfect! Had it for a week now and cooked everything from pulled pork, whole extra large chicken, steak and chicken wings (side note you can fit 1.5kg of tesco frozen chicken wings on at once). Also some poeple say that this is hard to do low and slow I set this a 1 & 1 and it stick at 250f better than my oven in my house! I would say if you were looking for a grill to do all the meat and all the sides for a party this might not be suitable but if you are looking for a family for 4 or to do low and slow meat for a party look no further than this!it only took 10mins to put together too witch is a good point. Because it is made of metal it is easy to move around the garden and I am not worried about a football being kicked at it and breaking it like a ceramic grill. the other nice touch is it comes with a cast iron grill out of the box (you still need to season it (i also filed some of the sharp edges down)) witch is perfect for steaks and retaining more heat unlike most of the other kamados.

I had the larger full-size Akorn Kamado when living in New Zealand and I have one on my terrace in Spain so I was 'sold' on them already (7 years cooking experience on them). In my opinion every bit as good, and more flexible due to different height grilling racks and the other 'eggs' out there and half the price. The JNR version is just as well made and has a larger griller area than most 'mini eggs'. Great piece of kit. The removable ash base is a great innovation and if anyone is wondering, this JNR IS large enough to grill a whole chicken under the closed lid,,,and if you are considering an outside pizza oven (and happy with 10 inch pizzas..I have purchased a round 10 inch pizza stone) then this works as well as any 'proper' pizza oven..getting up to 550 degrees (optimum for pizzas) is easy using (recommended) Webber briquettes. Despite recommendations to use lump wood charcoal, I can verify weber briquettes provide far longer and more stable and predictable heat. Finally, if you cant get a heat deflector (necessary for slow cooking) just bend 2 foil trays together and its cheap and easy. Very Happy!
