“Low rating entirely for poor shower head mounting bracket and pipe connectors.
First, the shower and headset are not designed as a set. The high-quality branded control valves have a cover plate with smart decals for shower, hand shower and temperature settings but the waterfall feature is simply marked on / off. A shame as it spoils the otherwise nice design and shows this valve assembly is universal such as controlling water jets instead of a waterfall.
The showerhead with dual rain head and waterfall features is non branded and comes without instructions, with fixing screws that are too small to be used for the mounting bracket and in my view missing two backing nuts for the shower head pipe fittings making the head fixing bend (crush) when tightening it up. On top of that, the worst aspect is the thin pressed (stainless) steel mounting bracket that bends with the weight of the showerhead making it impossible to fit horizontally as it droops. Also, the adjusting screws are the wrong way around making fine adjustment impossible as they face the wall(!). I fitted it but only after strengthening the bracket to stop it from bending. My fixing was into wood so relatively easy to be accurate with but fixing it into brick or block is probably very difficult to be accurate.
The showerhead pipe connector that mounts to the poor fixing bracket has no adjustment for depth, unlike the control valve assembly thus one has to be very careful in mounting the whole unit to make sure it fits flush with tiles. I cannot see how it would be possible to mount the cover plate on a tiled surface as the threaded pipe is simply too short to protrude far enough. Whilst I planned to anyway, my cover plate has to be recessed onto my 12mm backing board and it all just fits. Care needs to be taken in planning and thinking through your whole mounting method.
Finally, consider the control valve cover plate too as surface mounting this is best on perfectly smooth-faced tiles. Any modern rippled, wavy, etc., tile is likely to mean there is a gap behind to trap mould.
In my view, the whole shower head mounting needs to be reviewed by the manufacturer.”
