“After years of murdering my fingers on steel strings, I popped a set of these on an old 3/4 ply bass. Absolute game changer. I used the thickest 2, then skipped a string, then the next 2 for d and g. Tension is low and fairly even. Acoustically, the E could be a bit heavier, but the balance is fine once amplified (j tone pickup and GK amp). Previously, I'd be on the verge of blisters after 1 set and messing around with tape or glue to get through a gig. With these strings, no problem with 2 or 3 sets a night, just play! Just out of curiosity, I have tried bowing them and they really are hopeless (weak tone, awful response) but that's not what they are about, so I really can't knock them for that! I showed my bass to a customer last week and he instantly asked me to get him a set and fit them when I did his setup. He picked it up this morning very happy indeed, loving the feel!”
