El Angel Smoked Paprika Dulce, Coarse Ground, Spanish Paprika for Paella and Charcuterie Reviews

Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

Spanish smoked paprika, known as Pimenton, is a traditional Spanish ingredient made from red peppers grown and produced exclusively in Extremadura. The peppers are smoked before being ground in ancient stone mills, resulting in a coarse, smoky paprika with a pleasant warmth and high coloring characteristic. This versatile spice is essential in authentic Spanish dishes, particularly in paella, where it provides the base flavor when added to the oil as the rice fries. Use it in stews, sprinkle on chicken breasts, pasta sauces, stroganoff sauce, as a marinade for barbecue meats, or as a dip. Spanish paprika adds depth and richness to a variety of dishes, making it a must-have in any kitchen.

I discarded my old paprika when I received the new tin of El Angel, it was not worthwhile using the old stuff, the difference in taste is amazing.

Always use this Paprika since discovering it. Gives a lovely Smokey flavour without overpowering the food. Also use the picante version when I want a little kick of spice to my food.
