Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with the world’s best steak restaurant El Capricho for the limited supply of selected ox beef cuts now available at Basco. This robust cut, hailing from the shoulder, is marbled with fat and connective tissues that break down during slow cooking, resulting in meat that’s both tender and deeply flavoured. Ox chuck can be prepared in various ways to suit different tastes and occasions. It comes as a whole piece that you can cut into chunks which are ideal for stews and casseroles, or even ground for burgers or meatballs, offering a range of culinary possibilities. Ox beef chuck is a staple for many comfort food recipes. It’s the go-to cut for classic dishes such as pot roast, where it’s slowly cooked with vegetables and broth until tender. It’s also ideal for beef bourguignon, a rich French stew that highlights the meat’s flavour, and for pulled beef sandwiches, where the cooked meat is shredded and mixed with barbecue sauce. HOW TO COOK OX BEEF CHUCK Steak? To unlock the potential of ox beef chuck, slow cooking methods are preferred. Braising, slow roasting, and smoking are ideal techniques that allow the connective tissues to break down over several hours, resulting in meat that is both succulent and easy to shred or carve. Sous-vide cooking is another method that can yield exceptionally tender results by cooking at a precisely controlled temperature for an extended period. HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY EL CAPRICHO OX BEEF Chuck STEAK? You will receive one bag of frozen El Capricho Ox Beef Chuck Steak vac pac delivered on ice pads. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE SOURCE THIS PRODUCT IN VARIABLE WEIGHT PACKS, SO EXPECT A WEIGHT VARIATION OF APPROXIMATELY 200G +/- ON YOUR EL CAPRICHO OX BEEF CHUCK STEAK.

Best thing I've had here, genuinely the best chuck steak I've had from anywhere. The marbling was incredible, it was almost like A3 Wagyu, I mostly used to make stew, it was incredibly tender and melted in my mouth. In terms of flavour, this was delicious. Grilled the marbled bits and it was amazing, literally just like Wagyu. 10/10, highly recommended.

I sous vide the beef chuck steak as one piece (med rare: 48 hours at 58 C) for a roast dinner for 4, and simply finished it with a quick sear in a hot skillet. Thinly sliced against the grain, served with parmentier potatoes, chimihurri and a simple salad -it was tender with fantastic flavour!
