Pluma Iberica 1.4Kg, Free Range Black Iberico Pigs, Oak Forest Fed, Spain Reviews

Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

Pluma Iberica is a cut from the end of the loin, known for its juiciness and leaner texture compared to other Iberico cuts. It comes from black Iberico pigs that roam freely in the oak forests of southwestern Spain, where they feed on sweet acorns and natural grasses. This unique diet contributes to the pork's complex flavor and marbling with beneficial fats. Pluma Iberica is well-marbled with flavorful fat that melts away when cooked. When prepared correctly, it's tender and rich, making it a great representation of how pork should taste. To cook Pluma Iberica, season it with salt and pepper, then grill or sear it at medium-high heat until done, leaving the center slightly pink.

We have eaten this in spain and loved it so I was hoping this would be good. It exceeded all my expectations, it has beautiful flavour and is incredibly tender. I cooked it on a cast iron griddle pan and to be fair it does create a bit of smoke so next time we will fire up the bbq. Wonderful product and worth every penny. Can’t wsit to try the iberico fillet we ordered at the same time. 10/10

This is without doubt the best pork I have ever eaten. Cooked it for a chef friend of mine. He was blown way Cooked on a Bbq ( first this year ) Please don't over cook it - and you will be rewarded with the most delicate and tender meat you can imagine. It spoiled me for all others -

It's hard to express the difference between typical British supermarket pork and this fabulous cut of Iberico. When barbecued medium rare with just a little sea salt, the flavour and texture is mind blowing, and the contrast between soft succulent meat and the crispy crust is an experience not to miss. Give me this over a steak any day!
