Matarromera Crianza 2022, 100% Tempranillo, Spanish Red Wine Reviews

4.9 Rating 27 Reviews
Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

Matarromera Crianza 2022 is a big, powerful and luscious wine. Aged for 14 months in American and French wood with a further 12 months ageing in the barrel. The key note of this wine is the balance between the perfectly polished tannins and the sweet notes of fruit and spice. On the nose, bramble notes combine with strawberry and figs. The tannins add great structure on the palate and notes of vanilla, leather and coffee merge with soft blackberry fruits and a long, lingering spicy finish. This wine is perfect with barbecued meats, hearty stews, cured cheeses and milk-fed lamb.

Amazing wine! I love Spanish reds and this is definitely one of my favourites. Basco fine foods was the only supplier I could find that sold it. I was delighted at the price and the customer service provided!

Our favourite restaurant to eat cochinillo in Madrid serves this wine so if I was going to cook cohinillo at home this was the obvious choice and it did not disappoint. A lovely drinkable wine which complemented the cochinillo perfectly, I will be ordering more!

Bought a half case after one try. I'm no wine connoisseur but can say this is one of the best wines I've tried in a long time. I rarely spend £20 on a bottle of wine but in these times and when they taste this good, why not.... Great service.
