GRAPE VARIETY 100% Tempranillo (Tinta de Toro) WINE TASTING Tempranillo is the main variety in the Toro appellation. The Toro appellation is spread over 2 provinces: the provinces of Zamora and Valladolid. The landscape is composed of a plateau and a small valley towards the river. The vines are located at an altitude of between 620 and 750 metres. The grapes have been carefully selected for optimum freshness. Using a combination of traditional and modern wine making techniques, Bodegas Lurton are able to develop the full intensity of their Toro wines. A young, fresh expression of Tempranillo aged for 6 months in 100% French oak. Nice deep red colour. Very expressive nose, with berries fruit, caramel and vanilla notes. Mouth is rich, structured, with supple tannins. We find aromas of red fruits, vanilla and a slight hint of balsamic. FOOD PAIRING Ideal with Iberian charcuterie, red meats, lamb, game and cured cheeses.

Delicious, Tempranillo at its best. Bought it before, will buy it again.

This is the third time we have purchased Hermanos Lurton Tempranillo from Basco and it won't be the last. A lovely wine that enhances any meal and is also appreciated by our friends.

I was very pleased to see this Toro wine available from Basco. I was introduced to this wine whilst on holiday in Segovia, and in fact made a short journey to the interesting town of Toro. I love the fact that this wine was taken by Columbus on his voyage of discovery. The wine itself is a suave and mellow Tempranillo without sacrificing any of its flavour and length on the palate. It is a wine suitable for a relaxed evening with friends or a more formal dinner party. A “go to” wine for all occasions. It has become one of my favourites and I hope Basco will continue to have it on their list of products.

Lovely, velvety texture and great aroma. Needs to be savoured, rather than quaffed. Would certainly recommend this wine.
