Vega Gourmet Truffled Sheep's Milk Cheese - Rich, Elegant Flavor with Black Truffles, 6 Months Cured Reviews

Read Basco Fine Foods Reviews

Vega Gourmet truffled cheese is a gourmet experience like no other. An authentic truffled cheese made in La Mancha, its intoxicating aroma invites you to taste. The black truffles enhance the rich, elegant flavors of this quality sheep's milk cheese from La Mancha. This truffle cheese is delightful on its own with a full-bodied red wine or complements many dishes such as risottos, thinly sliced on an omelette, potato gratin, and alongside cured meats or a drizzle of honey. It is the star attraction on any cheeseboard. Made from pasteurised sheep's milk, the cheese is cured for up to 6 months, allowing the truffle to infuse and develop an intense cheese with complex notes of cocoa and woodland.

This is a medium intensity cheese - not cheek-sweatingly intense but fragrant, shroomy and earthy and yet still remarkably fresh flavoured. It has a really good, smooth texture, punctuated by rich veins of truffling, and doesn't crumble when sliced. It's a quality cheese and well worth splashing out on. I wouldn't worry about the 3kg quantity as once you taste it, it won't sit around long enough to reach it's 12 month shelf life (once opened)!

Didn’t realise it would be quite so big but a week in and we have eaten half of it. So good. Slice thinly and eat as a ore dinner nibble or after dinner cheese board. Dry with a definite but not overwhelming taste of truffle. Moorish
