“This is the 3rd time we have hired this boat, it is a good length to moor where longer boats can't get.
New vinyl flooring was laid this year and the bath/shower has plenty of room, electric toilet is useful as it is nearer the ground for smaller people, bed comfortable with all around access, electric mud weight a bonus, Barnes Brinkcraft a very professional hire company-- the boat is one of the older ones in the fleet but it has become our favourite --on the down side the Southern Broads this year were not as remembered them--Loddon Basin and town were run down and shops and cafe were no longer there--antisocial behaviour was apparent--we didnt stay -- but 2 other pubs abd a acle bridge cafe all closed perminatly made along with no moorings towards Breydon water a challenge..mooring stern on has its drawbacks hi to low stepping
we could have done with longer ropes to tie up in stormy wet weather as a downside.. however on the plus great hamper for us as returning customers --the company is friendly and very welcoming . Northern broads were really busy as we returned -- the weather turned very wet and thundery -- we did cut our time short but nothing to do with BB or the boat --i do think some of the charm is waning on southern side but this is only my opinion”
Thank you for your lovely review, Carole. It means a lot that Royall Swan has become your favourite boat, and we're pleased to hear the recent improvements, along with a few of her practical features, continue to make your holidays enjoyable.
We appreciate the feedback about the ropes and will pass that on to the team. Thank you as well for your balanced comments about your trip. Unfortunately, we can't do much about the weather, but we're glad the hamper was well received and that our team helped make you feel welcome once again.
All the best,
The Team at Barnes Brinkcraft
“This was a last minute break for the wife and myself. and chose Royall Swan as it looked as if we would be able to get on and off without to much trouble as we both have mobility problems. And it turned out that we could.
We found Royall Swan excellent for us. The bathroom is a really good size and is ideal for anyone with problems getting around like us. The boat itself is easy to handle assisted by the bowthuster making it easy to come alongside and moor up.
Only 2 problems we experienced were we quickly run out of the matches we were given on arival as the cooker had to be lit by them. We overcame this by buying a gas lighter as soon as we could.
And the other problem we had was dozens of Bluebottles appearing from nowhere which took us 4 days and a can of fly spray to completely eliminate.
Apart from that we had a nice relaxing week and would not hesitate to recomend Barnes Brinkcraft.”
Hi Robert
Thank you for this clear and helpful review. You are not alone in liking a boat with fewer steps once on board and a large (for a boat) bathroom
We'll look into the auto spark thank you ... amd at least leave a lighter on board
All the best,
The Team at Barnes Brinkcraft
“Though showing sings of wear and tear ( the bathroom a little tired ) the Royal Swan is still the boat for us. She handels well and is verry comfortable and easy to moor, just the job for us oldies....Keith Woonton...”
