“I have been boating with Barnes brinkcraft for many years and I’ve always had a very positive experience , this time in particular was fabulous as the boat was ready on our arrival and as all boats in the Barnes fleet, looked amazing.
All staff are very friendly and helpful too and the welcome aboard hamper is an added bonus !
Just as possible room for improvement … make the beds up for arrival on all boats other than that all fab !!
Looking for a boat that has better accessibility than quarter, but still two cabins , as my friend struggled with all the steps so if you have any suggestions then I would be grateful !!

For your next trip, it might be worth taking a look at Serenade. Once you're onboard she's step-free throughout, and the aft cabin has a walk-around bed which many guests find much easier to use. “We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Quartet 3, it was the first time on a boating holiday for two of us (only one of us had done this before) and we would definitely go on a boating holiday again. The boat handled well, and the bow thrusters really helped with manoeuvring into gaps. The cabins were really comfortable and had plenty of points for charging phones, using hair appliances etc - which all worked fine on the boat. The toilet and shower in the aft cabin worked well, the shower in the forward cabin wasn’t really practical unless you’re under 5ft, but the second toilet was a bonus. The galley area although small, was functional and had everything we needed for the three of us.
The boat has been well used over the years and the sliding roof has gaps which leak like a sieve when there’s heavy rain - I wouldn’t want to sleep in the saloon area as the cushions got quite wet in a downpour. The electric lights in the forward cabin worked intermittently - the roof opening and closing seemed to affect the lights - we did report this when we handed the boat back. Despite this, we did have a fantastic time on the boat.”
“Lovely boat, my wife struggled with the many steps between rooms, we are both approaching 70 & my wife is a stroke survivor so the ups & downs were a bit of a challenge. We loved it even with the steps. Heating was not great especially as it was pretty nippy. Comfy bed & dining area!”

It's worth noting that we have several boats in the fleet that have no steps internally, which can make it easier to get around once you are on board. Please do give us a ring to discuss other options if you choose to book again. We will check out the heating as it should be up to the job
