“It’s never too late to learn a little bit extra and enjoy the beautiful pages within this little gem. I always find myself going back to the other books in this series. It just reinforces those things to which the fly fisherman may need reminding of. I think they are great! This was meant to go into my Christmas stocking but I just could not wait to read it. “‘One of the most powerful skills you can develop as a fly angler isn’t related to choosing the correct technique or equipment - it’s about understanding the water itself. When you understand watercraft, you can read the river as a fish does, gaining insight into how factors like current, temperature, oxygen levels, and even light affect fish behaviour’. Thanks a lot Richard and Jack for all the detailed research you’ve distilled into this little gem of a book…it’s this ‘how to’ knowledge I’ve always wanted to understand without going for my PhD in hydro dynamics and terra forming etc…I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned on my next trip to my local river (and taking some photos of it’s topology in the summer / lower water levels …a great addition edition to your unique ‘pocket book’ series.”
