Great e-bike
Helpful Report
I'm really happy with my new eBike. This is the first eBike I have owned, and so far it has been great to use. Where I live there are lots of steep hills, but this really takes the sting out of them, and I find myself cycling a lot more frequently. I like the styling of it; fairly conservative and stylish, so I am not too worried about leaving it locked up in public spaces. I recently used it for a 20 mile-round-shopping-trip, which is something I wouldn't have dreamed of doing on my Dawes tourer. It frequently gets used for 5+ mile trips, which are a doddle. It's good to know that fuel isn't being burned and exercise is being had.

I think I bought the wrong sort of bike for me! It is a nice, well-made bike but very much for smooth roads at low speeds. It is not a hybrid bike as titled (it even has drop handle bars). After 15mph the motor stops assisting but then seems to drag, and for a road bike this feels wrong to me. On rough surfaces I found it very uncomfortable. I'm not sure about range as the battery % reading seemed to drop much faster than I expected. But the main problem for me is not the bike's fault, the riding position gives me back ache. I should have bought a proper hybrid bike so I guess I'll have to sell it. So it is probably a good bike for the right person at a good price and not too heavy for an electric bike.

Shipped very quickly, easy enough to assemble. I've had it for 2 months and enjoyed some great rides of 25 miles plus. A small niggle is the bar tape which showed signs of wear after the first ride but I'm sure this can be addressed by the manufacturer by using a harder wearing plasticised version. I only use level one assist as I'm quite fit and this is more than enough(you'll be surprised by the torque) The head tube angle is a little steep so the handling at speed is a bit sensitive but no probs after you get used to it but be aware that if you use clip in pedals there is a bit of overlap so don't pull off on hils if you turn the bars more than 30 degrees or so. Overall a great e-bike with stylish design and a good range which you can ride on the flat at 17mph with no assist due to its reason able weight, I actually love it!

Hi Pete, many thanks for your comments on our bike, we're really pleased you like it! Plus we've noted your comments for improvement, the bar tape is already being improved for incoming stock :-) Many Thanks The Avaris Team
A really wonderful purchase, a quality bike with that extra power for windy days. I love it!!
