“I bought a secondhand MAF sensor in an attempt to cure very bad performance in my XJ8 4.2. It was a fraction of the cost of a new one and I wasn't 100% sure I was barking up the right tree, so didn't want to spend a fortune on a whim. The new part came quickly but I noticed it had carbon deposits on the glass bulb in the sensor. This was carefully cleaned off with carburettor cleaner and installed. The car was much better immediately. Since then, I have also used two bottles of fuel injector cleaner too and the car is back to full power. I now have two working MAF sensors for very little outlay. What a relief.”

“I received a MAFS P/N MB197400 instead of P/N LNE1620CB. After installation, the engine was runing roughtly and generated a DTC code P0101. (order # 1000074404)”

Hi, Please note the MAF sensor you ordered and reviewed is part number C2S2670 - it cannot be used in place of the similar looking, but more expensive, LNE1620CB (you will find the correct part on the shop priced at £22.49 and this will work properly on your car). The item you ordered is not suitable for the pre-2002 XJ and XK models, so this will be the reason the engine is running roughly. Please contact us - we will be happy to exchange this for you.
