“My brush sheds goat hairs all over the few albums I tried it on. I use properly diluted VPI concentrated cleaner on my VPI 16.5 so I don't think the cleaner caused this.”

“I recently purchased a goat hair record brush from Audio Advisor and am very satisfied with it. I do not have a vinyl record washing machine, so I clean records by hand. I use the goat hair brush first to remove any heavy dirt and static. I follow up with a carbon fiber brush in case a goat hair comes loose, then use microfiber cloths to wash and rinse the records. The goat hair brush seems to get more stubborn stuff off than a carbon brush alone.”
“I generally use the Audio questions carbon fiber brush to clean and destat a record before playing and the Goat hair brush seems not as good here. But it excells at scrubbing the record with wet cleaner. However, this has to be done carefully or the bristles fall out.”

“It seemed fine for the first few times I used it, but then the hairs started to come out on my vinyl. Maybe it's not intended to be used with any vinyl cleaning solution. It certainly is a nice soft brush, just not for cleaning vinyl.”

Update: Customer reports he was using a 90% alcohol record cleaning solution that may have loosened the glue on his record brush. We advised him to use no more than 10% alcohol solution to avoid this problem and damaging his records.
