I don't know what the solution is, but like tens of thousands of others I've been using this product for decades without any deleterious effect on my styluses, and the cleaning wand works great. For all I know it may be a slightly modified or unmodified! mascara brush, but it has passed the test of time. Using it carefully on my cartridges, whether an Ortofon or Dynavector, has never caused a problem.”
