“So far, the product does a good job cleaning records. I will be using it more in 2023. I wish customer service knew the product better as the questions I had really could not be answered.”

“I decided to get back into vinyl about three years ago. In the past my record cleaning was pretty minimal, but I did use the last cleaner. I came up with a fairly effective manual cleaning method. It worked well, but my results varied, and I had a hard time finding a cloth for drying records that wouldn't leave Lindt behind to foul up my stylus. I resisted a cleaning machine because I would rather spend the money on music.
I finally decided to take the plunge' and pick up the Pro-Jett VC-E . All I can say is that I should have gotten a record vacuum from the start. My records have less surface noise, and have lower background noise than before. And my stylus is always clean, no more Lindt.

“After trying several different types of hand cleaning techniques to clean my record collection, with varying result. My biggest problem was finding microfiber cloth's to dry the records that didn't shed fibers, So I decided to look into a record vacuum. The Pro-Ject VC-E looked like a good choice, so I went with it.
I have only cleaned a handful of LP's so far, but the VC-E has done an excellent job of cleaning my records. It is very easy to use, and the results are very noticeable. My stylus stays clean, no microfiber Lindt. Significantly Less clicks and pops. And the overall noise floor is lower. Those little fibers left behind when I used cloth to dry my records was some noisy stuff.
I had been hesitant about buying a record vacuum because of the cost. I always figured that I would rather spend the money on new records. But now that I have a record vacuum, and have heard the improvement it has made in my record playback, I wish that I would have bought one long ago. If you are looking at a record vacuum and have doubts that you will benefit from one. Just pull the trigger, you won't regret it.
The VC-E is easy to use, and operates smoothly and well built. The record turning motor does make a small amount of noise, but it isn't objectionable. And if I do clean several records back to back, I will see a fog on the bottom of the record when I lift it off the machine. This evaporates in a short time, and leaves no film. The VC-E does come with a plastic deflector that can be used if this bothers you. I would recommend the VC-E to an audiophile friend or family member who plays vinyl.”
“I admit I loved the performance and functionality of the simple VC-E unit. I got it as a Christmas gift and cleaned roughly 30 records with it before the vacuum motor got considerably louder and made a sound like a failing bearing was burning out. Supply chain issues and a 3 month wait for a replacement are making this next decision a hard one. I would like to keep it but I dont know when it will completely fail and if I will be able to get it replaced when it does. Kind of sucks, I am really frustrated. Can believe the vacuum motor is not more robust.
