“Very happy with Pro-Ject Evo with only two comments. First, the Sumiko Rainier cartridge was a bit edgy until it broke in after an hour or two. Secondly the tonearm has not lowered a few times, easily fixed by applying a little pressure on the arm while away from platter then repositioned. Seems to be resolved now.”

“With a few upgrades this TT easily beats others at twice the cost. I have owned other Project TTs and they were a good value, but a bit noisy, especially the motor. The Debut Carbon EVO fixes that by redesigning the motor suspension and using much better feet with better isolation. The noise floor is very low. I added the Acrylic platter and upgraded the stylus to a Moonstone. It is basically getting an X1 for a few hundred dollars less, but with a better motor mount. The only con for me is that the plinth is very light. I worry that I'll pick up my entire TT when I open the dust cover.
