Pro-Ject Debut Alu Sub-Platter Upgrade For all Debut, Debut PRO turntables New Reviews

4.9 Rating 17 Reviews
I bought a Debut III as a second table three years ago. Of course, I soon realized I wanted something that sounded as good as my other, more expensive Pro Ject table. I bought the Acryl-it platter, which really smoothed things out and tightened up the mid-range. Then I bought a Music Hall Cruise Control, which resulted in more solid imaging and better musical flow. When I installed this sub platter, I was stunned. In fact, I reinstalled the original platter because I was convinced I was imagining the improvement. Nope. I don't know if it's the combination of upgrades, but when I added the sub-platter, everything seemed to come into line. I played the new, astonishing reissue of Ella's Christmas LP from Acoustic Sounds/Verve, and the bass attack was more solid, and the instrument was more three dimensional and "wooden." I've spent the last three weeks in wonder, enjoying how much this thing has led to audible improvements in playback. At this point, I think my Debut III is not only be comparable to my 1Xpression Carbon Classic, I may actually like it a bit more. Very highly recommended.
