“I don't know if adding this platter improves cartridge tracking angle or is less resonant than the stock, steel platter, but i's easy to hear the difference. I hated the stock felt mat and had been using a cork mat, which was much thicker than the felt mat and might have raised the record too high for the stock 2M Red cartridge. The acrylic platter expressly says to use no mat, just the platter. I bought a Record Doctor clamp to make sure there wasn't any slippage between record and platter. Like I say, i's a very good upgrade.”
