“Quality for the price. Glad I found a 20" version. It puts the tweeter of my Totem Model 1's at the same height as my floorstanding Hawks, vastly improving the height and depth of the soundstage. I would have preferred the DS400 in 20" (I already own the 24" and 28"), but this is an acceptable option. Identical base plates as the DS400, just three circular tubes instead of four square tubes. I'll probably plug the rear tube so I can fill it with sand. It comes from the factory drilled for cable management. They did arrive with a layer of rusty orange dust all over them, likely from sitting in a humid warehouse for a long time. But it wiped off with a wet cloth. Recommended.”
“After purchasing these stands I feel a little buyers remorse. Should have just popped for the heavy duty ones.
Nothing really wrong with these other than they ring like a bell when you flick your finger against them. The description said you could fill them with sand but I couldn't see how as the tubes are mostly closed by the flange that accepts the assembly screws.
The price is very reasonable just feeling I should have bit the bullet and gone for the better ones.”
“Went together smoothly. Additional height made my 35-year-old JBL 4311 Control Monitors sound great. Putting the tweeters at eat level made a big difference in the high frequencies. Well worth the price.
Only misgiving I have is the size of the top plates. Paid extra for the 6x9s. But things are still a little precarious.”
“The single column support is easier to assemble than the previous 2 column version and, I think, more structurally sound.
Much better than banging holes in walls and trying to hang your speakers there!”
“Assembly was mostly easy. One screw on top plate didn't want to thread. Finally it did go in. It's the perfect size for my Martin Logan 35xti. Until I was able to add sand in the legs they made a horrible buzzing resonance that I couldn't get rid of. I would give up the ability to hide the speaker wire in the third leg as that one leg still resonates. So I taped up the bottom hole and filled them as well. Now they are great. Otherwise 5 star.”
