“Overall nice appearance! Assembly was easy with minor thread problems in the base for the still points.
* Sand fill-able * as noted in the items description, not practical unless you want to spend an hour on each tube for a total of 4 hours. (my best guess based on the size of the bolt hole) Overall they have enough weight and stiffness the sand probably would not make much of a difference.”

The real benefit of filling with sand is not so much the added weight, its the damping. Adding sand or shot will reduce the ringing of the metal parts -- you hear the speaker and not the stand.
“That is to say, very high quality! Sturdy, easy to assemble, no flaws in the finish, & packaged to survive the journey. I like that they match my Vulcan stands, & that the spike-feet are adjustable for leveling.
My only moan is with filling the tubes w/ sand or shot. The stands are marketed as fillable, but that's a reach, I had to modify them a bit.
I plugged the 3 perimeter holes & their adjacent weld-slots at the bottom of the tubes w/ glue, but that won't last long. I used a drill to enlarge one of the perimeter holes at the top to 5/16" diameter, to accept the stem of a plastic funnel.”
“at 32 inches tall its hard to find speaker stands that feel stable on a crpeted floor, even with spikes, but these sure do. I covered the holes in the third leg which are intended for cable management. Instead I filled them with sand. With all three legs filled these are heavy, but that's what lends so much stability to them. They hold my B&W 706S2s at exactly the right height.”
“The stands are super easy to assemble, and look nice and feel solid. A major reason I decided to buy this affordable stand was because the description said they could be filled with sand. But the only opening are tiny screw holes. Filling this is not going to be fun.”
“the stands work great, but i paid more online than the prices in the catalogue. also bought a pangea stero rack. catalogue price 99.00 for the black stand i bought. online price 125.00. stands were about 10.00 more than the catalogue price. i hadn't received a catalogue in a couple months so i thopught the price went up. my bad. then i got a new catalogue yesterday. guess what - price was same as previous books. WTF???”
