“I am so happy right now, I have finally found the right amplifier for me and my speakers. This JC-5 has so much middle and depth, its almost like I upgraded the speakers, wires, and everything! Very happy I went for it and bought this. You will not be disappointed.”
“Purchased Parasound JC-5 to upgrade my Parasound A-21. Amplifier being used for HT and Audio - equipment is Marantz 8805 and Golden Ear Reference speakers. Audio Advisor = awesome and professional. Called to validate address and very quick to arrive and in perfect order so kudos!
Amplifier review for JC-5? Save your money if you own the Parasound A21 or similar. I jumped on the “more is betterâ€ wagon without any real review on the JC-5 at time of purchase and I regret it. I, nor my wife can even tell the difference. (Not movies mind you, but critical HiFi music/stereo). Whether at low or high volume, I literally could not hear a difference from the A21. This could be my GE specakers and the efficiency rating, (meaning the amp may be really great, but the A21 was more than enough to push them and more was not any better). Especially for $4,000 MORE than A21. BTW — I do NOT see this amp competing with the JC-1 mono amps either.”
“I was using the Parasound A51 before purchasing the JC5. The first thing I noticed was that the music seemed to be projecting from a blacker background than previous Parasound amps I have used. I do like the upgraded speaker connectors. The whole amp speaks to quality and I would recommend anyone thinking about purchasing an amplifier to start here.”
“I don't spend money like this lightly. I don't even have money like this, except I sold a vintage car I'd been working on but never had time to finish and now I have the money and time for my real pleasure, listening to classical music. And i's no exaggeration to say that ‘the bes' in terms of hi-fi power amps cost astronomically more than the JC 5. I've heard amps costing $20K and higher, and the difference between what they can do and what Parasound does with the JC 5 isn't even worth mentioning. If you can afford it, you won't regret spending the money on what is a revelation when it comes to soundstage, detail, power, dimensionality, and total realism.”
“I dug into my nest egg. Who knows what the future brings. I do know this comes close as you could go to money buying happiness. A dark room, glass of wine, Miles Davis KIND OF BLUE, I found heaven.”
