“Have been an Ortofon fan for a long time. Was a dealer back in 80's. Always loved the VMS and MC carts. Now retired, I am using the 2M Blue to record some classic LPs that I want to listen to, but not wear out. Mounted and aligned to Lofgren A on a Micro Seiki MA505 tonearm and JVC QL50 turntable. Arm/cart resonance is around 9 Hz. Using a Pro-ject Phono Box S2 Ultra, with gain set at 40dB and the capacitance recommended by Ortofon (bought the phono box from you folks too). The 2M Blue is a high output design (5.5mV), so the level coming into the computer is hot, but within a usable range with Audacity. So far, recorded an original Sheffield direct album of Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker - I've Go the Music in Me at 24-bit, 48 kHz, and it sounds great on our hybrid surround system. Listened to some original MoFi half speed master disks that I have had since the 80's when I was also a dealer for MoFi. They sent me a solid oak wall clock one year, I guess because we sold enough records to deserve it.
As for the 2M Blue, it's good ol' Ortofon neutral, but detailed sound, from pant leg flapping bottom end to triangles in an orchestra. Very listenable with our bi-amped Tannoy System 15s and the 7.1 surround running in tandem. Took a while to get all the delays right, but it's a semi-goosebumper, immersive experience in our large listening room.
Really glad to meet you folks. Sorry to "run off at the mouth" but I don't know anybody who is into home audio anymore. Worked in the audio industry for 30+ years in broadcast and motion picture markets.

“The Rega 3 works perfectly. I had a 30 year old Alexandra Oracle turntable with a very very old Ortofon blue cartridge. I replaced the cartridge with a new blue Ortofon & I am blown away with the quality of the sound
Even my "82" year old ears can tell the difference
