“I purchased this to replace a SONOS connect. I use Amazon Music High Res and Deezer. BlueOS is one of the few streamers that I found that can work with Amazon Music. The sound is noticeably better than the old SONOS. I also connected my turntable directly to the phono input and it seems to be at least as good as the external IFI phono preamp I was using. I copied most of my existing CDs to FLAK and loaded them on a USB stick plugged into the USB socket . This also works very well. Overall I am very pleased with this unit. The only slight negative is the app. It is generally OK after you get familiar with it. The problem is some of the units functions can only be accessed from the from panel and some can only be accessed through the remote control and some only through the App. The remote is a universal control used for many other NAD products so it is large and has lots of unneeded buttons.”
“Probably the single most disappointing piece of audio gear I have ever purchased, I purchased for 2 Chanel listening and paired it with my classe audio amp, the thing is just plain lifeless, no bottom end punch muffled mid and highs, i use Tidal and Roon for streaming and was expecting a decent experience, now on slower melodic music it seemed somewhat decent But when a track with a bit of pace kicked in the music became distorted through sections of the song, tried Dirac feature, still awful, switched amps to a pioneer spec, still bad, switched cables,still bad...had some friends come over to blind test this, used the pre out section on my pioneer sx1010 paired with the same classe audio and the Nad with the classe audio and the ancient pioneer which is not a stand alone pre amp just destroyed it.”
“I tried to like this unit, but every time I used it there was a bug or error in the software and I spent hours trying to get it working again. After a couple of resets to factory settings, it finally came up with an error message on the BLUos update and I could not get it to reset. I'm not sure if it was a bad machine or a bad product or bad software. I wanted to like it but had to give it up in the end.”
“Seems to be a good piece of equipment and convenient for streaming Spotify. Sounds great. Only complaint is not being able to use Airplay. Not sure bluetooth is as good a quality and takes a minute to connect, and if I leave the room lose the connection. Using it with Vintage Kenwood monoblocks and vintage Acoustat Model 1 with passive sub.”
