“When I record CDs for my vehicle I prefer to record them in MP3 format. There are only a couple of CD players that I know of that can play them in my house. Marantz is one and TEAC the other. Both companies have solid reputations for quality and the Marantz is just fine.”
“The box containing CD player was badly crunched in one corner/side upon delivery; however, I noticed no damage to player. Player worked OK. Haven't listened to Marantz CD6007 much to give full opinion. I'm playing it with my Denon receiver and old Advent speakers. I wished I had purchased before price hike, significant price hike, from $499 in Winter 2021 catalog to $799 when ordered 11/2021. An Unbelievable $300 price hike- BIDEN INFLATION???”
“A competent performer for the money. I tried an Arcam at twice the price, but couldn't live with the user interface. The Marantz does what it is supposed to do without any unpleasant surprises. I have a large library of CD-R's and CD RW's. It plays all of them with no problem. Unusually good bottom end. Really good soundstage on my system, maybe the best I have heard.”
“I have been playing the 6007 for five days now and I am really liking the sound.
The CD player is revealing with warm mids and good bass. I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of bass this player can deliver. This is probably the result of Marantz increasing the size of the capassitors by 120 percent for this unit.
Secondly, being able to play high resolution music files on a handy thumb drive is a dream come true for me. This is why I chose this player. i find this method more convenient than useing a computer hooked up to the back of a CD player. The sound of high resolution files is wonderful with larger sound stage, more realistic vocals and instruments are more rich and life/like.
I own two other Marantz CD players The SA14S1 which sold for $2500 about six years ago and the 8005 which sold for about $1600 about eight years ago and I must say that the Marantz 6007 still sounds great compared to these other units with perhaps a slightly wider and deeper sound stage.
For $799, you can't go wrong with this player. I highly reccomend it!”
“Really enjoy the two filter option.Prefer option 1 for most high end recordings although filter 2 can open up the soundstage on older or less dynamic sounding material.”
“I have a NAD CD C-568. Wouldn't play brand new or many cds. Along comes the Marantz CD6007. Read about the rave reviews. Bought it as a present to me in december 2020. I had to wait until February 12 2021 to actually receive it. What a huge difference!!!! Makes my Parasound 2250 v.2 amp and Tekton Double Impacts sing. Such a smooth and musical cd player. Oh yes, it is playing all my cds with no problems. It has a substantial feel and the buttons make sense. Yes, I love the Marantz CD6007.”
