“I purchased this from Audio Advisor over a week ago. Really good Headphone Amp and dac. I listen to Bluetooth before bed every night. I also use this for a dac with a cd transport. Very neutral. My wife loves the looks on vertical stand. I like my Cambridge Magic dac but it died a few months ago. The Ifi is more expensive than the dac magic 200. But I do find it a little more open and detailed on most tracks. The magic was great while it lasted but this iFi beats it out as it should for almost twice the price.”
“I previously had a Wyred4Sound DAC with an ESS chip. Not an inexpensive DAC in its time, and still sounded good with my streamer despite its age. But chip did not play well with my LG OLED sound card. (Long story about that, which I will skip!) Bottomline, for way less than half the price a decade ago of my old DAC, the iFi neo sounds fantastic and works with all my sources. Only “iffyâ€ aspect might be the remote, which does not look “built for the agesâ€ but who knows? Maybe it will last despite its delicate form factor?”
“I was going to buy a Dac Magic from Cambridge, but it was back ordered, so I thought I would try this. It has Burr brown chips and I really like the Burr Brown in my preamp. I tried it with balanced and RCA outputs, haven't tried the headphone function. But it would probably make a great headphone amp. I run my OPPO bluray through optical for concerts and the like, my Cambridge CD transport goes through the coax. The PC connection is the best of this type I have heard, but the big surprise is Blutooth. My Sony media player and my phone have LDAC, A Sony invention, and I'm getting 96khz through that, and it sounds amazing, this is not your granddaddies blutooth. I find myself streaming tidal through this thing all the time, when I get Tidal through my laptop I get MQA, when I use Blutooth I get 96khz, and can't really tell the difference much. Best sound through blutooth EVER. And my CD collection sounds great through the coax, I fell in love with that transport when I got it, hard to believe it could sound better, but it does, a lot more "there" is there. One warning, make sure you have the volume set to fixed or just turn down your amp to make sure, because I got a blast of sound once, with visions of a dead set of two thousand dollar speakers being used for doorstops.
Other than that this is a great addition to any system, I love it”
