“No snake oil here! Instant improvement in the soundstage. Tighter focus and horizontal differentiation between the instruments and vocals. Height and depth seems reduced to me, however, probably because of the razor focus. If you're a tweaker, these are a no-brainer. If you've read the docs on speaker isolation, you know there is measurable loss in energy, especially in the bass frequencies. That may take some getting used to depending on how you prefer your bass. If you are a critical listener, they are highly recommended. If you listen for pleasure, they take out some of the fun, IMO. I'm a classically trained full time professional musician. Some audiophile tweaks seem counterintuitive to me. Room resonance and ambience is part of the experience, whether it's technically "correct" or not. Google the 1986 renovation of Carnegie Hall. Their "fixes" ruined the experience and they eventually changed them back. So maybe think of speaker isolation as a tool in your belt. I will probably go back and forth depending on my mood, as I do with my speakers. I own Totem Model 1 Signatures for critical listening. Their forward resolution is fantastic, but quickly fatiguing, especially at higher volumes. I prefer my Sky's and Hawks for everyday listening. These pucks are a seasoning I can add or take away as I desire. Perhaps over time I will settle one way or the other. I did order two more 8 packs for my surround sound if that says anything.”
“I experienced a drastic improvement after installing the Iso Acoustic "Gaia's" on my floorstanding speakers. So, I decided to try the "mini pucks" on my tube preamp & separate power supply. While the improvement was subtle, it was still significant. I am and will remain a big fan of Iso Acoustic products.”
“I much prefer spikes but my speakers move around and scrape the hardwood floor. Also, my floor is not level so I have to constantly adjust the spikes. The pucks solve those problems but tend to soften the sound at the expense of accuracy. It's a decent compromise.”
