“Very happy with this choice. Wanted a low output moving coil. Was deciding between this, a Sumiko Blackbird, and a Dynavector 20x2-L. Chose the Hana ML "sound-un-seen" based on global internet reviews. Sounds amazing and getting better as it break in. Obviously you need a pretty decent phono preamp or a step up transformer and a MM pre amp. Previous cartridge was a Sumiko Blue Point No.2 high output moving coil. Set up was a bit tweaky as the micro line stylus is so small its difficult to see. Ended up buying a $40.00 digital microscope on Amazon.”

“I've had this cartridge for about five weeks at the time I wrote this. There is so much to say don't know where to begin, let me just say that this cartridge does not lie. If the recording is bad it'll show, on the other hand if the recording is good you'll be blown away. It's amazingly similar to Audio Technica's AT 150MLx moving magnet cartridge (which replaced) in almost every aspect: tracking, accuracy(surpassed here by the Hana ML). The one thing this cartridge does that the AT 150MLx never did, is make music in a very real, some times spooky real way. I cannot recommend this cartridge enough. “Had the $750 HANA low output MC cartridge for a couple of years and thought it beat my Clearaudio Stradivari v2 hands down. But then, its right channel coil opened up; never had that happen with any MC cartridge before.
This $1,200 HANA is noticeably better sounding than the defunct one, which was very good in its own right. Let's hope one of its coils doesn't fail.”
