When I called to have it returned, customer support made me buy another whole pair (not just one cable, duh) until I returned the defective cable + one good one to make a pair. Then my card would be reimbursed. Crutchfield doesn't require that. Instead they send another cable and only charge your card if you don't return it within two weeks.”

After making the switch, I listened to the first CD I played through the new player again, “Ray Charles sings, Count Basie swings�. There was more detail in the music than with the Audio quest cable. More instruments came out of the background, and the whole cd sounded cleaner than before.
