“Audio Intelligent solutions are what I use exclusively for restoration pre-treatment. I did a two year study of record cleaning involving research, trying solutions, etc. Audio Intelligent solutions I found to be most effective. Are they the only good solutions out there? No, but very few are. Part of the problem is that many do not tell you the ingredients or discuss anything about them. I was able to learn everything about AI solutions.
If you have a manual system (vacuum RCM or the like) and want to take your record cleaning to the next level , I recommend Audio Intelligent solutions. Do NOT use them in an ultrasonic machine though! AI does have a formula designed for use in ultrasonic baths if one chooses to do so. (I have not tried it).
Many say that the AI solutions are expensive, they are initially and the price has gone up some over the last years, but the 16 ounce size will do around 150 to 200 records so it is still cost effective.
One word though, if you are ordering from Audio Advisor, be sur to tell them to make sure the caps are on well and product packaged well. Both times I ordered this product I received a fluid damaged box with a 25% full bottle inside because it had leaked everywhere. That said though, Audio Advisor remedied both instances straight away when I called them, easy-peasy. So Audio Advisor will take care of you should you have an issue.”
“I use a two part cleaning method. Spin Clean, then a vacuum cleaning. I had a couple of LPs that were still noisy after that, so I used some of the Audio Intelligent Cleaner that I had lying around. I was really surprised at how much quieter the records were, so I ordered more so I could clean Other LPs. Used LPs could have suffered all kinds of mistreatment, so this is a good product to have around.”
