“Love the sound. Love the looks. Love almost everything, except I'm getting rid of it. The unit either does not react, or time delay reacts to CD ejection, via the remote. Sometimes, 1-2 minutes after hitting the remote, the unit ejects the CD, but ejection times are inconsistent and a real annoyance when trying to listen to music. Not the only person who recognized this flaw, and I wish these people would have at least mentioned it. Now using my old Rotel RCD991 as a transport. 20 years old!! Thanks for allowing me to waste almost $500. 00”

He commented his CD collection had a new life and I totally agree. For the money, this transport cannot be beat and AudioAdvisor is a terrific online retailer. “I was running a vintage Marantz CD recorder from the '80s and thought it sounded okay. I was positive there was something out there that would sound better and I was not disappointed. I've been hearing about people using cd transports so I started digging and ended up choosing the audiolab 6000CDT from Audio Advisor. I'm in Michigan and they immediately sent it out and I got it overnight - that's incredible. A couple hours later, I had the transport in place and running through a Marantz PM7000N using its internal DAC. The first CD in the tray was Dire Straits Brother In Arms. I heard things in that CD that I haven't heard playing it through that old Marantz ever! The detail of the vocals the drums the guitars, everything was so crisp, clear, and precise. I couldn't believe the difference. I thought there would be a little difference but I was stunned at the magnitude of improved sound quality compared to my old Marantz.
The only other concern I had and as others have mentioned is, will it scratch the CD? I didn't even bother to put in a test CD, I went straight to Brother In Arms. It was velvet smooth on the insertion. It spun the entire disc and flawlessly and played all 9 tracks then, ever so smoothly ejected the disc when I hit the button - not a scratch. Just perfect!
So how do I really feel about my new transport - the audiolab 6000CDT is an absolute keeper! I have to believe at the sale price that they are currently at, they won't last long. Highly recommended and if you're on the fence, just grab one - you'll love it.

“I purchaed this transport a few years back and wrote a review that seems to have dropped off. No matter. Actually, in a way, this is a more infomative post. When first purchased the 6000CDT was very impressive, especially for the price. A true audiophile bargain. When I upgraded my DAC/Preamp to the Linn Selekt DSM/Katalyst I was pleasently surprised that the Audiolab "kept up" It sounded great, musical, detailed, soundstage, all improved and I never got the sense that I needed to upgrade the transport, sounding just as good as Qobuz HiRes. Cool! A couple of months ago I upgraded the Selekt to the Organik DAC, Linn's completely in house design. The difference is not subtle. Everything is better. Everything. Most astonishingly, was the complete lack of background noise, it was absolutely black. Music poured out with the clarity and freedom of a live performance. Again the 6000CDT kept up. All these imptovements were so very aparent using Qobuz, and the Audolab kept pace, just spinning discs. Doing its thing. And I kept feeding CD's I hadn't listended to in years and reveling in detail and nuance I had never heard before.
Audiolab has newer, updated transports that I am sure are excellent (and that Audio Advisor would like me to try? hint-hint) but I am listetning to the 6000CDT and am enjoying every note. Qobuz is a great streaming service, definately look into it. But if you, like I, have an extensive CD library, the Audiolab 600CDT and a reasonable DAC (talk to the Audio Advisor guys, they're great) will get you well on your way to CD nirvana. And the best thing is, is that as you upgrade your DAC, and other system upgrades, the 600CDT will be there with you, making incredible music. A ridiculous value for the $$$
