“I probably waited much too long to replace the cleaner strips on my Record Doctor cleaning machine. The kit was received promptly and applied easily. The replaced strip worked well on the group of RCA "His Master's Voice" classical albums from the late 1950's I picked up at a yard sale. Fortunately, the previous owner treated the albums with care. After the Record Doctor treatment, they were literally as good as new. And they really sounded GOOD! Not just good for 60 year old records, but good compared to records from any time period.”
“Although overall happy with the product, several of the strips were bent upon arrival. They were just folded in the packaging. I don't think it will affect the way the strips work, but it was/is worrisome and easily avoidable.”
“I like my Record Dr. Five but it is a little more difficult to replace the sweeper strips than indicated in the directions...You peel the old strip off first, of course and then apply the new strip...Prior to applying the strip, you position it on a wedge that fits into the machine's vacuum opening...The instructions direct you to peel the backing off the new strip prior to placing it on the wedge but I found myself much better off peeling the strip once it has been placed on the wedge and prior to placing the wedge in the opening...”
