We did not expect much other than transportation to Gibraltar. Although a very early morning start, the day was relaxing and entertaining! Our bus drivers and commentator for the day were exceptional and professional. The Gibraltar tour by Dennis was a little crowded in his mini bus but the 1.5 hr tour lasted for 2.5 hours giving us more than enough time at each sight.. To make it an over the top tour, it would have been nice to take the cable car to the top and meet the tour at mid station.

It is a very long day, we were picked up before 6am and not returned until around 10pm. On the whole we enjoyed the trip and think it is worth doing at least once, The only downside we found was, during the trip the guide advises you to purchase a further ticket for a trip up the rock to see St. Michael's cave and the apes, it is a further 25 Euros. Think carefully before buying into this, we were loaded onto a mini bus that was packed with people even sitting on little seats down the middle of the aisle and driven up the rock. We were given 20 minutes to see everything when we got there. St Michael's cave is amazing and the apes are gorgeous but there is just not enough time. There was absolute chaos with mini buses and people everywhere when we were there. There are lots of mini buses on the other side of the border, I don't know if they would give longer at the cave. We found this part of the trip was very disappointing.

Let me start by saying Gibraltar is a beautiful city, but I and my fellow passengers were left quite disappointed by the scheming ways of the tour operator. I got back from the tour an hour ago and I thought I should write this review while it is fresh on my mind. I got picked up at 5am from my hotel and from there they went to pick up other people around the Algarve.. That lasted an hour before we hit the highway for the journey to Gibraltar.. The journey itself was comfortable.. Nice air-conditioned bus and nice seats.. We had 2 comfort breaks and I was on the bus from 5am till 12pm. Anyway, the guide told us all about the rock and some stories about cities along the way, but where it got weird for me was when he asked us to pay an extra 25 euros each for the tour of the rock. A family of 5 that couldn't pay were singled out.. They were told, once they get to the border, they should make their way to town and sort out their day, but be back by quarter to 5 for the journey back. I paid the 25 euros and I regretted it later as all we they did was drive us up to the rock all the way to St Michael's cave (The driver pointed some bits and pieces out to us while driving) . We went into the cave by ourselves and when we got out, we saw some 3 monkeys messing around in the car park. That was it, we got driven down to town, where we had free time. In town, I found out that for 20 euros, we'll get a proper guided tours to all the attractions or 15 euros for 4. That is way more than we paid 25 euros for. Very disappointed!

Me and three friends in our twenties booked this excursion from albufiera. The bus trip was long but we'd been out night before so slept a lot of the way. The selling point other than Gibraltar itself was the tour operator Carlos. This dude was extremely well informed and his knowledge of Gibraltar and it's history added to a really enjoyable day out.

I booked to go to Gibraltar, the trip was great but I ended up buying additional excursions to see the area. The ticket itself is just for the bus ride to Gibraltar- bit disappointed with that. Ended up costing half again what we originally paid. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip though, felt it was mis-sold a little.
