I did this on the morning of my 21st birthday, and I'll never forget it! This was the most unbelievable experience. We flew around the whole city, seeing sites such as; Empire State, Statue of Liberty, Yankee Stadium and the islands around New York. The pilot was very friendly and informative, and gave us lots of interesting facts and pointed out a few sights! This was an amazing thrilling way to see the city, would definitely do it again.

A fantastic treat to take in just how big New York really is. We had gone to see the 9/11 memorial with the helicopter ride booked for late afternoon. It is a fair old walk between the two, so leave plenty of time to get to Pier 6. We arrived earlier than our allotted slot, but were taken right away and everyone was polite and efficient with our safety paramount. The pilot was great, very informative and the flight was thrilling. We'd do it again in a heart beat !

Bought for birthday present, excellent service from the moment we arrived, certainly a day to remember.

We booked the helicopter tour for 4pm and were advised to arrive 30 minutes early which we did. You find the helipad by heading to the South Ferry subway station and heading left and following the path for about 100 yards when you come out. You can take line 1 on the subway and it's goes direct from 42nd Street on broadway. Once there, there are a number of companies operating and this tour is run by Liberty, who's line was to the right of the station (staff dressed in yellow). We were given a lifejacket, and watched a short safety briefing after providing our details including weight. The weight determines where in the helicopter you sit (3 seats in the front and back). The only criticism is that the middle seat has a restricted view at all times. This is a shame as it restricts photo opps slightly, although if going as a couple, its likely one of you would get a window seat. You are then lead across the helipad to your vehicle (there are approximately 8 helicopters sharing the station. The ride lasts 10-15 mins and goes up the Manhattan shoreline on the way out and back via New Jersey. The pilot provides commentary as you fly past the landmarks.
