“I bought tickets for my neice and my greatneice and greatnephew in advance. My family ce all the way from Newcastle. I paid just under £90 for the tickets, £40 for food, we paid around £55 on gifts (my neice had to borrow the money from me) First of all we went to get something to eat, from one of the restaurant . I don't remember the name of it but it doesn't sell goods , only food. I found it very difficult to get any of the food that was on the menu and when I went to pay for it I was met with a hostile checkout girl at the till. She was very confrontational and quite scary. Her behaviour was so bad I had to complain to her boss. Who asured me she was dealing with the employee, however as I sat down to eat my food with my family. I saw the very same woman back at her post. Myself and my family sat down to eat the food but most of it was inedible (I paid £40 for the rubbish food). Even the guy who served my soup was sorry that there was only one kind of soup. He just kept saying sorry madam. I would not recommend eating there ever. The diversity of the animals was ok the best thing to see are the pegues The lions;the one gorilla I saw;the jeraffs; tigers and in general the largest animals look very depressed and sad. Which in turned made myself and my family sad to see they, confined to suchh a small placr at the zoo. The gift shop was over priced I say this because my neice is a single parent with two young children and she said to me and I quote " I can only buy the a pencil or something like that, because I don't have the kid of money that they charge at the zoo" . All in all”

“We have never been to the Zoo and decided to build the visit into our holiday plan by buying the tickets well in advance. This gave us plenty of time to get the most from our trip. We had a great time.”

“Having been to london zoo over the years since a small child myself.then taking my 4 children . Also working with children taking them there. Have always found it an interesting and informative day out for all ages. So yesterday went with my husband daughter and her partner and my 2 grandchildren. Having got a shock of the entrance price. Found many animals depleated .my grand daughter loves elephants --one of the reasons of going were told that they no longer had elephants as did not have space for them. Yet they had areas unoccupied of animals and have built adventure play areas for children including a water area .noticed no provision for changing rooms so children changing in the open i frount of everyone in the same area of picnic tables very inappropriate(my grandchildren did not use the water area ) There were shops at every turn selling overpriced rubbish. I find it very sad that such a wonderful magical place has become a way to extort money from people and that inspite of charging so much as a zoo the animals habitats are so rundown and dirty. Dont waste your money going there are plenty more places to take your children.”
