High backs are very much in vogue at the moment, but I wanted something that wasn't going to crowd the line of sight in a relatively small dining room (I bought 8). That factor - along with the lovely darker colouring of the legs - made them a perfect choice. The leather is beautifully soft. It has a feel of quality. Assembly was pretty straightforward.
